For more than three decades, Rick has recognized and dealt with major disruptors in the real estate industry. Over the past eight years, he designed and implemented an aggressive growth strategy resulting in raising his company’s national ranking from 64th to 24th largest real estate and home services business in the nation. A net increase in sales force count of nearly 350 percent was achieved through 18 mergers/acquisitions and routinely placed the business at the top of Louisiana’s fastest growing privately held companies. Rick further succeeded in integrating a barrier-breaking brokerage model with traditional models.
Leadership of large and complex organizations is best done through utilization of Guiding Principles. Rick’s Guiding Principles have served organizations well: “Build Organizational Trust”; “None of Us Is as Smart As All of Us”; “Feedback is a Gift”; and “Sustainability in Competitive Advantage is Achieved by Seeing Clearly, Moving Boldly and Continuously Innovating to Keep Pace With Rapidly Changing Business Landscape”. With more than 30 years’ experience, Rick is a sought-after thought leader in the real estate industry. Beyond that, Rick is a thoughtful and innovative strategist for his clients across all markets. He lives for the adventure of taking his clients to those “aha moments” and helping them see the possible and achieve great results.
Over a 31-year career with Enterprise, Alexis gained experience across multiple facets of the business while rising through the ranks to Vice President and General Manager over 15,000 vehicles, 76 locations and more than 1,000 employees. Though the emergence of multiple disruptors challenged the car rental and sales markets during his tenure, Alexis succeeded in leveraging the considerable assets under his leadership to strengthen both brand and business across Southeast Louisiana. The devastation of the entire region by Hurricane Katrina in 2005 both tested and honed that leadership; he simultaneously reassured employees and quickly got the businesses back into operation to meet the area’s unprecedented needs. Alexis retired from Enterprise with a well-earned reputation for inspiring performance, breaking records and managing large-scale operations with proficiency, warmth and success.
After retirement in 2016, life got busier for him as he set out to achieve many personal goals that had been shelved during his career. The goals ranged from success in competitive auto racing, surfing and stand-up paddling, to downsizing from three storage units, reorganizing garages and tending to family matters. His embedded organizational skills led to morning meetings with the dogs, to-do lists and, ultimately, the work that was to last for a decade took all of 16 months to accomplish!
The bigger piece in life that he discovered missing was human interaction. His wife was still busy with her small business, kids were busy starting their careers, and close friends were still working. What was really missing was the thing that he loved the most: mentoring and coaching his many employees and impacting their professional and personal lives. Rick and Cindy surfaced in his life just at the right time and in the right place for an opportunity to continue to help coach, motivate and develop businesses and their leadership teams.
